V2

V2 is a 'Supreme Machine' from the game 'Ultrakill,' originally released in 2020. It's still being worked on to this day. The game follows V1 in its journey throughout Hell after the eradication of mankind;

V2 makes its first appearance in the level 1-4, titled 'Clair de Lune.' V2 is described as being the successor to V1, made during the New Peace as a security-focused robot on the V1 frame.

V2 has four wing colors to indicate attack patterns during its fight:

• Blue: Wariness. Caution. Indicates that V2 will retreat.
• Red: Aggression. Impulsivity. Indicates that V2 will rush towards the player.
• Green: Curiosity. Interest. Indicates that V2 will circle the player.
• Yellow: Neutral. Calm. Aimless wandering mode.

During the fight, V2 makes several whining or beeping noises. When V2 is finally defeated by the player, it whines as it breaks out of the ceiling glass above, dropping its arm (the Knuckleblaster) in progress.

V2 makes its second appearance in 4-4, 'Clair de Soleil.'

GABRIEL

Gabriel is an Archangel or 'Supreme Angel' from the same game, Ultrakill. He is the protagonist of the story, although not the one we play as.

After the Council was established during God's disappearance, Gabriel was ordered to descend through Hell and take action to restore Heaven's oppression over the sinners within. In this process, he gained the title of 'Judge of Hell,' inherited after defeating the previous Judge of Hell, King Minos, who presided over the Lust layer. Minos ruled over his subjects with grace and benevolence, establishing a society within the confines of the Lust layer, allowing them to escape their torture by constructing high walls. On Heaven's orders, Gabriel eliminated Minos after an attempt at peacefully escaping Heaven's subjugation of the citizens of Lust.

Gabriel has put down similar revolts in the past; more specifically, in the layer of Greed. Sisyphus created a massive army of insurrectionists out of the sinners of the layer of Greed, going as far as to attempt a military insurrection despite the fact that Sisyphus knew they would lose. In the end, Gabriel decapitated Sisyphus on Heaven's orders.

Gabriel makes his first appearance in the level 3-2, or 'IN THE FLESH.' Gabriel appears to have been ordered to stop the machines from descending further into Hell, as he orders V1 to halt at the threat of violence. After his defeat, he goes before the Council and is cast out as a heretic, as there is a common attitude amongst angels that machines cannot possibly defeat angels.

Having had his holy light taken from him as a result of his heresy, Gabriel and V1 meet again in level 6-2, or 'AESTHETICS OF HATE.' After his defeat, he acknowledges his love for defeat; being completely undefeated as an angel means loss is a new thing for him, and having a challenging battle seems to put him in a state of ecstasy for the second half of the battle. He then proceeds to slaughter the Council in a fit of rage, finally seeing their misuse of God's words as a tool for oppression.

As the story is unfinished, we await Gabriel's arrival in 9-2.
