The links above will take you to different components of the ePortfolio, including...
Each page has its own distinct theme, although most of them share common features, like basic structure.
As the subject of Project 2 is the IBM System/360 and the history of computers and computing machines, this ePortfolio has a theme serving as an homage to webpages hosted on websites like Geocities. Its domain of choice is Neocities, a website hosting service.
Historically, Neocities used to serve as an archive for Geocities pages, before Geocities was shut down. Now, it serves to encourage users to get creative with their webpages and spur on the creativity of the early web.
While this doesn't entirely resemble early websites to complete accuracy (specifically around the 90s up to 2005, where there is a distinct pattern of most sites being written in Times New Roman font, as fonts were nowhere near as easy to implement as they are today), I attempted to mesh today's CSS and HTML capability and yesterday's basic but charming retro feel. Most of the subpages are based off of websites I found from surfing the Geocities archive.
Sticking with the theme, I've decided to include some more playful components, like stickers, buttons, and JSpets. Glittery text, pixellated gifs, and other things are included.
Enjoy your stay!
